The Reggae Review is an independent music publication devoted to reggae, roots, dub and dancehall — from the foundation era of Kingston studios to the sound systems carrying the music forward today.

We grade every record on a 10-point scale, the same way a sound-system operator tests a fresh dubplate: does it hold the room, or does it fold? Our reviews are written by writers who actually listen to the whole record, more than once, before they reach for a number.

Beyond reviews, we publish long-form features and interviews — oral histories of the engineers who built the music, field guides for listeners just finding it, and conversations with the artists keeping it alive.
